Live and Local Radio
KBEK 95.5 FM is a live and local radio station serving East Central Minnesota and Western Wisconsin. With a powerful 25,000 watt signal, KBEK's listening area extends south into Anoka County, east into Wisconsin, north to Pine and Aitkin Counties, and west to St. Cloud.
On the air since 1995, KBEK provides local news, sports, weather and community information. KBEK broadcasts school closings; cancellations; obituary notices; details on lost, found and adoptable pets; new baby announcements and other helpful local information. All KBEK staff members live in the towns within our broadcast area including Mora, Cambridge, Brook Park, Ogilvie, Braham, Day, Grasston, Pine City, and Isanti.
Local news on KBEK is written and produced on-site using details from local law enforcement organizations, the Minnesota State Patrol and community members. KBEK's news policy requires official confirmation of news information prior to broadcast. KBEK provides hourly reports from the Minnesota News Network (MNN) along with regular agricultural news and market information from the Minnesota Farm Network (MFN). National and international news and sports information is provided by the Associated Press (AP). Newscasts are aired at the top of each hour from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

KBEK's mix of songs features popular music drawn from several decades, and brings those memories alive.Our announcers play current popular favorites as well as some long-lost songs we found "in the back of the vault". KBEK's music library consists of over 3,000 songs, including something for every age and musical taste.
Every song played is someone's all-time favorite, ranging from Buddy Holly to Elvis to the Beatles to Abba to the Rolling Stones. KBEK has won numerous awards of excellence from the Minnesota Broadcaster's Association. Many of them have highlighted our community service, but our commercials, sports coverage, spot news coverage and soft news coverage have also brought us numerous awards.
KBEK has also been recognized by community organizations such as the Kanabec County 4-H Clubs, with the “Friend of 4-H” award. Others include the Minnesota Cancer Society for “Outstanding Radio Programming” and the East Central Minnesota branch of the Vietnam Veterans of America.
Beyond the official awards, KBEK has earned recognition from a huge number of non-profit and community groups throughout East Central Minnesota for KBEK's focus on community service.
