NB Referendums Pass
A series of critical referendums were approved late last night in North Branch.
North Branch schools will be receiving over 70 million dollars in grants.
The first chunk of money will go towards updates to classrooms, facilities and security improvements.
The second will be put towards athletic facilities, and the third to technology.
Now that it’s been approved, the school will meet with officials to begin putting the plans into reality.
American Legion Memorial Day Event
Memorial Day is this upcoming Monday, and the American Legion in Hinckley is honoring those who died serving in the United States Armed Forces.
Legion member and Air Force veteran Al Wolter said that some of the events include the presentation of the flag and a performance by the Hinckley marching band.
At the memorial day service, Hinckley Schools Superintendent Rob Prater will be speaking.
The service is held at the Veteran’s memorial in Hinckley at 10 am and open to the public.
After the ceremony, a free lunch will be held at the American Legion in Hinckley.
Summer Food and Fun
A program is available this summer for youth in Pine City.
The Summer Food and Fun program is aimed at families who struggle with food budgets during the summer months when kids are at home.
The program runs June 12th through August 17th.
It’s no cost to join if your child is in the Pine City Backpack program or reduced lunch, and registration closes June 5th.
Growing Green Trail Run
A unique trail run is being held this weekend.
The Growing Green Trail Run in Rush City is from 8:30 to 12:30 on Saturday.
The run goes through farm trails and woodlands of Treasured Haven Farm near Rush City, MN.
A discounted price is available if tickets are purchased before the day of the race.
Mora Music in the Park
A summer music concert series is kicking off in Mora.
Music in the Park will be starting June 8th at Library Park Downtown Mora.
Each concert is free to the public, with a total of 12 through August.
The first concert for this year is a family friend child focused one.
Admission is free, and each concert begins at 6:30.
