Travelers in the Pine City area this weekend could encounter some slowdowns as crews work.
Beginning this Friday, the northbound lanes on the I-35 Snake River Bridge will be closed.
To remedy that closure, a traffic switch will be set up in the southbound lane and flow will be reduced to a single lane in each direction.
The implementation of the switch came sooner than planned as MnDOT changed their schedule.
However, MnDOT says the change in plans will allow them to finish the north and southbound bridges will be done in 2018 and fewer travel impacts will occur in 2019.
