The speed limit on Highway 48 from near County Road 115 to the Wisconsin Border will increase from 55 to 60 mph.
The speed increase is based on a traffic and engineering study, which looks at past crash rates, physical attributes of the highway, and an analysis of current driving speeds.
This change will occur sometime next week. It will take effect once new speed limit signs are put in place; however, the speed limit for the town of Cloverdale will stay 45 mph.
