Isanti Man Charged following Sting Operation

An Isanti man has been charged after being caught in a sting by USA Predator Hunters.

On Monday, October 29, Pine County Sheriff's received a report from the organization about sting that involved 53-year-old Randy Lee McCray.

A member of USA Predator Hunters posed as a 15-year-old girl and met McCray through the dating app "Skout". There, McCray arranged to meet the "decoy" at Robinson Park in Pine City on October 29 to engage in sexual conduct.

He was met in Robinson Park by the founder of USA Predator Hunters who recorded their conversation on video. During that recorded conversation, McCray admitted he was in the park to meet with a 15-year-old girl.

A few days later on November 1, McCray contacted the sheriff's office claiming he had been scammed. He claimed that he was actually talking to a 25-year-old woman and not a teenager.

In a statement made to the Pine County Sheriff, he admitted to texting the "decoy" about sexual conduct, going to Robinson park to meet and to sending an explicit photo of his genitals.

McCray is charged with one felony count of "Soliciting a Child to Engage in Sexual Conduct" and a felony count of "Soliciting a Child Through Electronic Communications".

Both charges carry a maximum sentence of three years.
