A man was killed Saturday while deer hunting near McGrath.
He has been identified as 56-year-old Gregory J. Nase of Columbus, Minnesota. Nase was hunting on family-owned property in the Millward Township.
A release for the Aitkin County Sheriff’s Office said they received a 911 call just before 1 p.m. Authorities believe that shot or shots were fired at a moving deer accidentally hit the man.
Nase was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident is under investigation by the sheriff’s department and Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
