The City of Mora is urging residents to conserve water due to ongoing dry conditions in east central Minnesota.
According to a notice from Mora Municipal Utilities, irrigation users are asked to cut back on usage, adjust watering times, and be mindful of overspraying on hard surfaces.
City residents are also asked to help reduce strain on the utility by using less water and taking steps not to waste water.
The utility says it’s currently in the pre-phase of having to make adjustments based on usage observations.
MMU will send notifications if the state department of natural resources enacts stricter water conservation measures for area watersheds.
The St. Croix Watershed is currently in a drought warning phase.
