The Mora School Board approved the design development phase of the new school project at their special December 3rd meeting. The board is looking to start the construction phase in the spring of 2021.
The $45 million dollar project will consists of two new sections that will be split level, with the classroom wings & science suite in the upper section and main entry & auditorium on the lower section connected to the Wellness Center. The interior design for the school goes for a Scandinavian Modern theme with neutral colors, porcelain tile and wood slats and finishes.
When security was brought up, one of the architects from ICS explained the balance between flexibility and safety. The design creates an open feel while also allowing for lockdown points to isolate sections.
The project is slated to be finished in the summer of 2023.
