A 79-year-old Fridley man is dead following a Thursday evening crash in the North Branch township last week.
According to the Isanti County Sheriff’s Office, responders were called to a two-car crash on County Road 5 and Dimaggio Street NE where two vehicles had collided head-on.
The report said that the victim's Ford Explorer was traveling eastbound and crossed the centerline hitting a Chevrolet Colorado. The Colorado moved to avoid the crash but was struck on the front passenger side. The driver of the Chevy was transported to Fairview Lakes in Wyoming for medical treatment.
The driver of the Explorer was found unresponsive at the scene and was transported to a Wyoming hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The condition of the other driver is unknown at this time.
