The city of Isanti will soon be getting a new restaurant option in the form of a Dairy Queen after council approved of site plans last week.
The new restaurant would be owned and operated by the current owner of the Dairy Queen locations in North Branch, Pine City and Cambridge and would be located near the clinic on 5th Avenue.
The location will be a “Grill and Chill” establishment, offering a full food menu and will have a two-lane drive-thru and an outdoor patio area on the southwest side.
The original site plans had the patio area on the east side on the building facing the highway but council was concerned with congestion taking place in the parking lot.
With the site plan approval, crews are shooting for a groundbreaking sometime this fall with a potential grand opening by no later than the fall of 2023.
