The Isanti County Board declared a state of emergency at a special meeting on Tuesday after a storm in late August caused significant damage.
County emergency manager Clinton Maxson explained that the storm’s impact was largely focused on the southern end of the county, including Bradford, Isanti, and Spencer Brook townships.
Athens, Springvale, and Stamford townships also reported damage, as did Cambridge and Isanti.
Maxson said the county’s damage totals reach the Minnesota threshold for emergency status.
Isanti County did not sustain any major damages to its infrastructure.
“It was mainly downed trees and downed power lines,” Maxson said.
