Ogilvie hosted Mille Lacs on Friday afternoon.
Every year during the fall and winter sports, Mille Lacs and Ogilvie meet up for a matinee performance, and it is always a fun one to be apart of.
The Raiders started the game quickly with a few big buckets and jumped out to an early lead. The Lions early on struggled to hang onto the ball and this seemed to create some frustration. Meanwhile, Mille Lacs had things running smoothly and continued to pressure the Lions defensively. Mille Lacs turned a majority of their takeaways into points and they were steadily pulling away. But late in the half the Lions finally started to get their offense into rhythm and out some points on the board. The defense was able to use that scoring as momentum and some some key stops. While they went into half trailing 50-30, they certainly had some positive things to take into the 2nd half.
The Lions came out firing in the 2nd half cutting into their deficit and putting the Raiders on their heels. As the margin shrunk, the Raiders need for a big play grew. As the half wore on eventually the Raiders got things running like they did in the 1st. The offense scored quickly and the defense created turnovers. This allowed the Raiders to pull away and finish with the win 91-69.
