Mora Falls to Albany for the 2nd Time This Season

The Mustang boys basketball team hosted Albany on Friday night.

It may not be fall, but the Friday night lights were sure shining bright for this conference and section matchup between these two rivals. Mora was looking to avenge their loss to the Huskies from earlier in the season, when they lost by over 40 points. Mora came into this game a much improved team, their defense specifically has recently got back to what fans have been used to seeing. The first half of this game certainly proved that. While there was some offensive highlights, the defenses showed out. Mora trailed a majority of the 1st half but going into the half they only trailed 25-19.

It wasn't long before everyone realized scoring was not at a premium like it was in the 1st half. Albany got off to a hot start on both sides of the ball. Part of the reason was Mora struggled to hold onto rebounds and gave Albany plenty of extra scoring opportunities. The Mustangs watched their deficit increase to double digits and it sparked their offense, while they began to hit shots, the Huskies offense was in full rhythm and couldn't be slowed. Mora would battle to the very end but ended up falling to the Huskies 73-52.

With the loss the Mustangs fall to 9-8 on the season. They'll host their rivals in Pine City tonight(Feb. 5th).
