Mustangs Fall in Pine City

Friday night was homecoming in Pine City with the Dragons welcoming in their longtime rivals the Mora Mustangs. The buzzworthy event, teams, and perfect weather all combined for a terrific night of football with both sides of the bleachers being standing room only.

The Dragons took control early and never took their foot off the gas. Winning at the line of scrimmage and taking advantage of mistakes were the catalyst to a Dragon 20-0 victory over the Mustangs to earn their first victory of the season.

Despite the loss, Mora had some success on the field as well. Winning the rushing battle, Mora seems to be leaning into being a physical football team. The Mustangs are in the process of learning a new offensive scheme this season, and it will take time. The early observations do show some progression on that front.

Pine City improved to 1-6 on the season and will travel to Esko on Friday night.

Mora falls to 1-6 and will go up to Hibbing Friday night.
