Mustangs Fall on Homecoming

Cloquet came into Friday night's game against Mora winless on the season due to a tough first half of the season. Mora was getting ready for the headline of homecoming week at the school with hopes of picking up their second win of the season.

Right from the start, the Lumberjacks dominated the line of scrimmage. Moving the ball very well. Scoring the first two touchdowns of the game. 14-0 was the score at the half. While it was just a two score game, Mora was lucky it wasn’t worse going into the locker room.

Mora felt that they needed to take advantage of their good fortune. The Mustangs took the ball down the field on their first drive of the second half and punched it into the endzone on a 2-yard run from back-up quarterback Mason Koverman.

Unfortunately for the Mustangs, that was as close as they were going to get. Cloquet scored again to go up 20-6 late in the third quarter. After that, Mora and the Lumberjacks exchanged blows. Even play wasn’t enough to get the Mustangs back into the game. Ultimately falling 26-14.

Cloquet will host Rock Ridge this coming Friday.

Mora will travel to Pine City for the Dragons homecoming game this coming Friday.
