Six miles separate Mora and Ogilvie. And as of last year, they are finally back in the same conference. The Lions traveled down highway 23 to play the Mustangs on Tuesday night in volleyball.
Mora did come away with a sweep of Ogilvie. The leadership for the Mustangs was on full display. Mistake-free volleyball put a lot of pressure on the Lions on Tuesday night. It forced Ogilvie to earn it. Because Mora wasn’t going to beat themselves. Lia Timm was the player of the game for Mora. The senior libero did a terrific job of setting up her teammates for success.
On the other side, Ogilvie had some success of their own. The Lions went on multiple runs. At times in the third set, Ogilvie jumped out to a three point lead. Relying on senior leadership themselves, Ogilvie impressed on the road. Senior Kadence Pierce was the Lions player of the game. Throughout her high school career, she has shown incredible athleticism and leadership.
Ogilvie fell to 3-3 on the season and will host Hinckley-Finlayson on Thursday.
Mora improved to 5-3 on the season following the victory. The Mustangs will travel to Pine City to play the Dragons on Thursday. That game will be on broadcasted on WCMP-AM and live streamed on YouTube.
