Braham Looking to Place Law Enforcement Personnel in Schools

In an attempt to increase the safety of students in schools, Braham is currently in talks to place law enforcement personnel in its schools.

Braham Police Chief Eric Baumgart posted on Facebook today that in the wake of the school shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland Florida and countless others that have occurred across the country, Braham would need extra safety precautions as well. Chief Baumgart announced that he's currently in negotiations with local leaders and school officials to put law enforcement personnel in Braham Area Schools.

"Our intention is to provide a safer environment for our students and the school staff," said Baumgart in the post.

As of now it's unclear in what capacity the law enforcement officer or officers placed in the schools would serve or when they would start, but Baumgart made it clear more information would be forthcoming.
