Pine City hosted Braham on Tuesday night. Both teams got off to a decent start, but Pine City was able to match the pace that the Bombers set. This allowed the Dragons to keep the game close. You could sense Pine City had found some belief in their team, understanding they could stick with any team they faced. It was a back and forth battle, but turnovers started to pile up for Pine City, which Braham was able to capitalize on.

Both Braham teams hosted Upsala on Friday afternoon. It started with the boys. Both the teams like to push the pace and score early and often.

Braham hosted Barnum on Tuesday afternoon. It's the annual battle of the Bombers, whether it's fall, winter or spring these two teams seem to play during every season. This time during Christmas break, and as the game began it seemed like the early start time along with it being in the middle of Xmas break, gave these teams some rust to knock off.

The Braham Bomber girls traveled to Milaca to face the Wolves in a matchup of two of the top-tiered teams in our area on Tuesday night. Both teams came into the night at 5-2 while playing very difficult schedules. Milaca threw the first punch starting the game on a 13-2 run. They never relinquished the lead throughout the game, beating Braham 58-43. Madison Gothmann led all scores with 24. Annabelle Gothmann added 17. Braham was not without some success. The Cambridge-Isanti Boys hosted St. Francis on Friday night. Mike McDonald's crew was looking for the first conference win of the season, but it wasn't going to be easy against a rival. The Bluejackets applied the pressure early against the Saints, on offense they scored early and often, on defense they played full court and it forced a plethora of turnovers.

The Milaca Boys traveled to Pine City on Monday night. Both teams came in searching for the first section win of the season. The Wolves came out and set the pace early on, offensively they moved the ball around and shot quick, defensively it was full court press trying to force Pine City to break it. The Wolves were out to an early 9-0 lead. But the Dragons were able to correct things on the fly.

North Branch hosted Chisago Lakes on Thursday night for a double header. The boys teams would take the court first. The Vikings came in having yet to win a game, but an offense that was high flying. The Wildcats had already won a game on the year, and while their offense didn't average as monat point, their defense was allowing less than the Vikings.

Mora and Milaca faced off in the newest edition of the highway 23 rivalry between the Mustangs and Wolves. Old foes who faced off in the Rum River and Granite Ridge Conferences over the years. Starting last season this battle became a non-conference and non-section matchup.  This game started out slowly. Both teams were struggling to get anything going offensively. The score was tied at ten with 10:00 left to go in the first half. That is when Mora found some success. A 20-0

Foley traveled to Pine City on Tuesday night. These two teams played last year in Foley and what a game that was. This time the game happens alittle earlier in the season in Pine City. Foley came in as the #1 team in the section, and Pine City was also in the top 5.

Ogilvie hosted LILA and Walker Hackensack Akeley on Saturday. The boys basketball team played first against LILA(Lakes International Language Academy). Both teams were searching for their first win of the season.
