Foley Defeats Conference Foe Albany, to Advance to the Sectio Semi Finals

Foley played Albany on Saturday at St Ben's.

The Falcons had beaten the Huskies twice during the regular season. But as the saying goes, it's hard to beat the same team three times.

Well early on the Falcons had got off to a good start and they seemed to be running away with the game. The Huskies were able to find some success offensively but couldn't find any consistency against the Falcons defense. Foley had all momentum on their side taking a 31-14 lead at the half.

The Huskies came out firing to begin the 2nd half. They got off to a 10-2 run and had cut their deficit down to 9 points. But that's when Foley was able to find their footing and got back on track. The Falcons just played their style of ball and slowly but surely began to pull away once again. As the half wore on the Foley lead grew to 20 points, and they were well on their way to a victory. But not without alittle bit of fight from the Huskies. The Falcons took their foot off the gas a tad with only a few minutes left. Albany was putting up shots from anywhere, and they were getting them to fall. They proceeded to go on another run, this time a 13-2 run. But it was not enough as time quickly ran out and the Falcons won the game 56-47.

The Falcons will play in the section semi final on Tuesday at St. Ben's against Sauk Centre.
