A 30-year-old was left critically injured after being shot breaking into a home owned by his step father.
Pine County authorities responded to a report of a break-in and a shot fired in Rutledge just after midnight on Thursday. Deputies learned upon arrival that the 30-year-old had been shot once in the stomach area by his 59-year-old stepfather after he had gained entry to the house.
The stepson was then airlifted to North Memorial Hospital where he was last reported to be in critical condition. The man’s step father was questioned by the Minn. BCA and released pending further investigation.
