Braham Area Schools superintendent Ken Gagner shared an update on upcoming construction projects during an interview Monday on the KBEK morning show.

According to Gagner, access to Braham’s school buildings will be restricted starting on Friday, June 2.

"Starting already this Friday, our buildings are going to be not completely off-limits, but what I'm telling people is that if you need to come to the school, let us know," Gagner said. "Because you're going to have to check in through a special door, and you're going to have to wear a hard hat."

The schools’ air handling equipment is being replaced, and the installation of new boilers and some electrical work will also take place this summer. Solar panels and some new windows and doors are also being installed.

Gagner said access will be available to the district’s outdoor facilities, but lot renovations will significantly limit parking this summer.

In February of last year, a building bond was passed authorizing about $11 million of maintenance improvements for the district's buildings.

Friday, Aug. 18 is the target date for substantial completion of the project.
