Braham defeats East Central

In the opening week for high school football, two longtime rivals met once again. East Central traveled to Braham to face the Bombers. Braham beat the Eagles 42-0 last season on their way to a 5-5 season. East Central finished the 2024 campaign 1-8.


Braham started quickly and kept their foot on the gas. The Bombers earned a 50-0 halftime lead gaining most of their yardage on the ground. Quarterback Garrett Lidke did throw for two scores as well.


East Central was able to puncture the Bomber defense in the third quarter. Scoring from eight yards out to cap off an impressive drive by the Eagles.


Tyler Ecklund was the Pine Insurance Agency player of the game. Ecklund scored five touchdowns on the night. Getting in twice on the ground, twice receiving, and taking it in on a kickoff.


East Central fell to 0-1 on the season, but will have another opportunity on Friday when Crosby-Ironton comes to town.


Braham starts the season 1-0 and will be at home against Pine City on Friday night.
