Snake River Bridge in Mora Opens to Drivers

Press Release from MnDOT:

The Minnesota Department of Transportation is excited to announce the newly-constructed bridge over the Snake River on Highway 65 (Highway 23) in Mora, Kanabec County, is open to all travelers.

Work began in May to reconstruct the new, wider bridge and includes a new multi-use trail along the west side that connects South Union Street to Frontage Road. Crews also improved pedestrian crossing at Division Street and storm water drainage to the Snake River.

Motorists may encounter periodic lane or shoulder closures with flaggers as crews install signs and lighting and remove traffic control devices. Watch for workers and flashing equipment and prepare to stop or slow down.

Benefits of the $5.8 million project include a new bridge structure to last 50-plus years, reduced overall maintenance costs and improved safety for pedestrians and motorists.

MnDOT thanks the public for their patience during this reconstruction project on Highway 65, Kanabec County.
