Winter parking regulations to begin next week

As temperatures start to dip across East Central Minnesota, winter parking regulations will be enforced once again starting on Wednesday, Nov. 1. Here's a look at what that entails for some of the municipalities in the KBEK listening area:

Mora: A city ordinance prohibits vehicles parking on city streets between the hours of 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. The regulations go through March 31. Property owners and residents are also required to remove any snow and ice from public sidewalks adjacent to their property within 12 hours after a snowfall.

Braham: From Nov. 1 through April 1, no parking is permitted on city streets, city-owned parking lots, or public right of ways between 2 a.m. and 7 a.m.

Milaca: Vehicles are restricted from parking on public streets between Nov. 1 and April 1 from 1 a.m. and 6 a.m.

Cambridge: Winter parking is enforced from Nov. 1 through March 31, and parking is prohibited on any city street between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. Failure to comply will result in a $20 ticket and a vehicle tow.

Foley: No parking is allowed on any city street or alley during the winter months (Nov. 1 - March 31), regardless of weather conditions, between the hours of 2 a.m. to 6 a.m.

North Branch: Residents and visitors cannot park on any city or public street within the city limits between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. from Nov. 1 until April 1. After any snowstorm while city plows are out, residents and visitors cannot park on any city or public street after 7 a.m. until the street has been completely plowed and cleared of snow.

Isanti: Unless permitted by the City Council or Police Department, no person shall stop, stand, or park any vehicle or permit it to stand on any City street, including the snow emergency routes, from Nov. 1 through March 31, between the hours of 1 a.m. and 8 a.m. Parking will be permitted on the streets between the hours of 6 a.m. and 8 a.m., provided that snow removal has been completed. Parking will not be permitted in the City's downtown municipal parking lot or city facility parking lots between the hours of 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. The Police Department may order the vehicle towed at the owner's expense.
