Two separate incidents took place north of downtown North Branch early Sunday morning.
To start off, police were called out to JJ’s Bowl & Lounge on Ash Street around 2:30 in the morning for a burglary call. Police arrived to find property stolen from the premises and well as extensive damage done to the inside.

Around the same time, a call was placed for an assault in progress which led to a barricaded suspect. Local law enforcement, with the help of Chisago County Police Department, spent nearly 4 hours talking to the suspect until they finally surrendered. The suspect was taken into custody without any injuries to themselves or the officers involved.
