Bye Bye Birdie Opens in Pine City

The Pine City Heritage Players are putting on a musical comedy this week.

Bye Bye Birdie is directed by Rachel Bigelow of Rush City who is also the musical director at North Branch.

Bigelow said she's excited for her first opportunity with the Heritage Players.

She’s also eager to display the local talent involved and is grateful for the lasting relationships made.

Bye Bye Birdie runs today through the 16th at the Pine City High School Auditorium.

You can get tickets either at the door for full price, or head to Cabin Coffees, More Than Sprouts, or the Pine City Chamber of Commerce office for $3 off each ticket.

Animal Science Night

The Chisago County 4H is hosting an informative volunteer night.

Animal Science Night is being held today from 5-6 pm at the Chisago County Fairgrounds in Rush City.

You can help set up the animal barns and also receive a free meal.

The event begins at 5 pm with the meal and the meeting starts at 6.

Chisago County Sheriff’s Office Cop-Ed

The Chisago County Sheriff’s office is giving citizens a closer look into their everyday tasks.

Called cop-ed pieces, the stories are posted to Facebook and contain either an informative angle, or emergency calls the deputies are sent out on.

The series gives citizens a way to better understand and receive an inside glimpse their local sheriff’s department.

Their office also does Tweets from the Streets, every Saturday where they live tweet on Twitter calls they’re going on, and is essentially a virtual ride-along where they also answer questions.
