$4.1 Million Bond for Building in Sandstone hits Final Stages


Bonds for Sandstone Administrative Building

Pine County is entering the late stages of obtaining money for a new building in Sandstone.

The bond would put a new county building on the map, as well as other enhancements.

Proposed in the bond is a new administrative Pine County building in Sandstone, as well as improvements to existing buildings and comes with a 4.1 million dollar price tag.

The debt service will be paid through ad valorem property taxes, and the bond is to be paid off within 15 years.

The county is looking to close on the bond by September 15th

Beach Party Hands of Pine City

A day at the beach in Pine City this Saturday means free food thanks to a local church.

Hands for Pine City will be giving out free hotdogs and hamburgers to anyone who wants them at the Pine City beach from 1-2 pm.

Hands for Pine City is a local church that often does service projects to give back to the community.

Kick Cancer to the Curb Event held in Ogilvie

A cancer fundraiser to benefit patients in Kanabec County is coming up.

Kick Cancer to the Curb is Saturday, August 5th from 10-5 at Ogilvie’s Back to the Tower Days.

A silent auction, food, drawings, games and much more will be offered.

Those attending are encouraged to also bring a nonperishable item for the Ogilvie Food Shelf.

Fall Sports Signup for North Branch

With summer hitting its midway point, school and fall sports are right around the corner.

North Branch Schools students grades 7 through 12 that are interested in fall sports should attend the parents and team meetings in early August.

The meeting is being held Wednesday, August 2nd at 6:30 at Edelstein Auditorium.
