"PRESS RELEASE
STABBING
AUGUST 28, 2017
At 7:56 am on August 26th Pine County dispatch received a report of a woman bleeding near the County Road 11 and Interstate 35 interchange. Deputies and ambulance were on scene within minutes and found a female who had been stabbed multiple times. Also found at the scene was a male with a single stab wound. The female was airlifted from the scene to a hospital in the Twin Cities with serious injuries. The male was transported to First Light Hospital and then air lifted to a hospital in the Twin Cities with non-life threatening injuries. Witness statements reported that the male was seen stabbing the female. It is believed the males injury may have been accidental during the incident. Investigators have been unable to interview the victim as of this time. The male has since been transferred from the hospital to the Pine County jail and is awaiting formal charges. A motive to the incident is unknown at this time. The case remains under investigation and any witnesses are asked to contact our office."
