Cub Scouts Sign Up in Pine City
Those interested in signing their children up for the cub scouts in Pine City have that opportunity in one week.
The School Night to Join Scouting event is September 14th from 6-7 pm at the Pine City Elementary School in the Media Center.
More information including leaders who will be present to answer questions will be available.
Those leaders are also able to help attendees register to join the cub scouts program in Pine City.
Fall Harvest Festival in Grantsburg
A fall harvest festival in Grantsburg is welcoming in the fall season in the community.
The Fall Harvest Festival is Sunday September 17th from 10:30 to 1:30.
Food, a raffle drawing with a $500 dollar prize, farmers market, and games and prizes will all be available.
The festival is being held at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Highway 70 in Grantsburg.
Former Rush City Teacher Pleads Guilty in Criminal Sexual Conduct Case
A Pine City man recently plead guilty in a criminal sexual conduct case.
Jon Michael Hughes plead guilty to fourth degree criminal sexual conduct surrounding his sexual abuse of a student at Rush City High School in the late 1980’s and early 90’s.
Hughes’ teaching license was revoked and will not be allowed to re-apply.
Final sentencing for Hughes will come forward on October 9th.
Threshing Show in Rock Creek
One of the largest collections of antique farm machinery in East Central Minnesota is holding a threshing show in Rock Creek.
The 28th annual Andersons Rock Creek Relics Threshing and Sawing Show is September 9th and 10th.
Gates open at 7:30 am with admission being $8. Food, music and a corn maze will all be available.
Kids 12 and under receive free admission.
