Pine City Brewery Giving Back to Local Veterans
A local brewery is making a difference and giving back to veterans and their families.
Three Twenty Brewing Company in Pine City is hosting Pints for Pine where they donate a dollar of every 10 and 16 oz drink purchase to local Blue Star Moms.
Blue Star Moms serves Veterans and supports active troops and their families in ways such as service projects.
The food truck present at Three Twenty for the event is run by a US Navy Veteran as well, and will donate 10% of their profits too.
The event is November 2nd from 4-10 pm.
Parking Changes for Winter in Pine City
Pine City was blasted with the first snowfall of the year on Friday, and the city wants to remind its citizens of parking rules.
In effect immediately, there’s no parking allowed from 2-6 am through March 31st.
Any vehicles left on the street during that time could be towed at the owners’ expense, and any damage is the owners’ liability.
If you think your vehicle might have been towed, you can call the city to find out what you’ll need to release your vehicle.
These rules are set in place to ensure safety and efficiency as streets are cleared in the winter months.
Rush City Ice Fishing Clinic
Believe it or not, winter has crept in early, and one of Minnesota’s favorite winter sports, ice fishing, is right around the corner.
Whether you’re a beginner or regular, the Rush City Public Library is holding an ice fishing clinic for free.
Hosted and taught by a DNR Fisheries Specialist, the clinic is being held Thursday, November 16th at 6:30 at the library.
Info will range from ice safety to equipment and tips.
All are invited and the class is free.
Project Lifesaver through Chisago County Sheriff’s Office
A project offered throughout Chisago county by the Sheriff’s Office has saved numerous lives over the course of its history.
Set in place back in 2011 as a part of a national plan, Project Lifesaver helps find individuals with disabilities who wander away from home.
The project has seen 100% of the over 3,000 cases locate the missing person safe and sound.
A small radio transmitter is placed on the person, and a group of specially trained emergency personnel are dispatched should the individual wander away.
While the project isn’t free, costs are minimal, and you can find out more by calling the Chisago County Sheriff’s Office.
