DNR Hosting New Year's Day Hiking and Snowshoeing

Frigid temperatures might have swept across East Central Minnesota the last couple of days, but the DNR is looking to get folks outdoors next week.

The DNR is hosting “First Day Hikes” on New Year’s Day at multiple state parks across the state, including Wild River State Park in Chisago County.

At Wild River State Park you can take part in a hike and snowshoe guided tour through the park with a DNR naturalist.

The tour will move along towards the St. Croix River, and is a free event with free snowshoe rentals.

You do need to pre-register, and can do so by visiting here.

If the wind chill dips below -15, the hike will be cancelled.
