3 Injured in Chisago Lake Snowmobile Crash, 1 in Critical Condition

A snowmobiling crash that took place on Chisago Lake Friday evening injured three people, one of which is in critical condition.

A man and his son were attempting to assemble their portable ice house when they were struck by the snowmobiler. The juvenile sustained head trauma and was experiencing shallow breathing, and had reportedly suffered bilateral femur fractures. He was then airlifted to a hospital and is currently in critical condition. The juvenile's father complained of flank plain as well.

The driver of the snowmobile was transported to a metro hospital for his injuries. He admitted he'd consumed alcoholic beverages before the crash but refused to take a breathalyzer test. A search warrant was signed by a judge for the test and once administered, the man was placed under arrest.

The identities of those involved will not be released until all families are notified and charges are filed.
