The man who struck a father and son with his snowmobile on Chisago Lake Friday night now faces charges.
46-year-old Eric Joseph Coleman has been handed multiple charges including a DWI for hitting the two while they set up their portable ice house. Full charges are as follows: Criminal Vehicular Operation - Great Bodily Harm Under the Influence, Criminal Vehicular Operation - Bodily Harm, and DWI.
If convicted of those charges, Coleman faces a maximum sentence of over 5 years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine. There is currently a warrant out for his arrest.
The father who was hit by the snowmobile, 43-year-old Alan Geisenkoetter, was released from medical care with non-life threatening injuries.
However, his son, eight-year-old Alan Geisenkoetter Jr., is currently being treated at a metro hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Deputies responded to a call just before 8 PM on Friday, January 26th that a snowmobile had struck an ice house on Chisago Lake and multiple parties were injured. The incident occurred 1-1.5 miles south of the northern landing off of Lake Avenue in Chisago City.
