The man who overcharged more than 200 police agencies across the state including local ones will not fight charges against him.
Gerry Worner was the fleet manager at Nelson Auto Center in Fergus Falls which supplied agencies with vehicles and was responsible for the over-billing. This week, he signed a plea agreement and will plead guilty to theft by swindle. His penalty and plea agreement is detailed here.
Local agencies affected were Cambridge and North Branch for city departments, and Chisago, Isanti, Kanabec and Pine for sheriff’s offices.
The largest local overcharge was Pine County as they were overcharged by over $4,000.
