Pine City state representative Jason Rarick has voiced support for a $21 million funding package to strengthen local school security. The plan would require districts to create threat assessment teams and send funds to schools so they can train staff.

"This would allow each district to create this task force and they would look at what was needed in their school to make security better and what they should focus on for the safety of their students.

However, the focus would encompass more issues as well.

“It's not just about gun violence; this is going to help prevent suicide, this is going to help prevent bullying.

This particular aid package was introduced by Governor Mark Dayton and has support on both sides of the aisle. You can view what each local district would receive by clicking here.
