On Thursday morning Pine County Sheriff Jeff Nelson announced he'll be running for re-election this fall.
"It's been my honor and privilege to be sheriff. The people that work in the sheriff's office are all top notch and it's made my job a little easier because of who they are," said Nelson.
The sheriff added that the local encouragement has been ever-present.
"The communities have been really good to work with and really supportive. I think we should keep that going at least another four years."
Nelson was first elected back in 2014 to his first term. The announcement came as part of Nelson's weekly appearance on the 100.9 WCMP Morning Show with Joshua Miron.
