Incoming Snow Affects Saturday Playoffs


The boys basketball playoffs continue this Saturday and with National Weather Service predicting up to a foot of snow in some areas the sections have moved several games.

SECTION 5A

Hinckley-Finayson is the #1 seed and they defeated East Central 59-25. Braham is the #4 seed and they defeated Isle 60-41 in the opening round.

Hinckley-Finlayson will now play against Braham at 6:00 on Monday in Foley. This game has been postponed due to weather. We will have this broadcast for you on 100.9 FM and wcmpradio.com

Section 6AA

Pine City is the #5 seed and they defeated #12 Sauk Centre 84-75 on Tuesday night to move on to the quarterfinals. The Dragons will take on #4 Spectrum at St. John's on Monday at 8:00 at St. John's. This game has been moved due to the weather. We will be broadcasting this game on 106.5 FM/AM 1350 and wcmpradio.com

From Coach C:

"Dragon Boys Basketball Fans - Due to the impending Winter Storm tomorrow, Saturday March 9 the Boys Basketball Section Quarterfinal game against Spectrum has been moved to Monday, March 11. Game time will be 8:00p.m. at St John’s University. Ticket prices are $8 for Adults and $5 for Students.

There will be a sign up for a Student fan bus through the end of 4th hour on Monday. The bus will load at 5:20p.m. out front of the High School and return at approximately 11:30p.m..

$5 reserves your seat on the bus and gets you a ticket into the game. Bring you money to Connie up in the office by the end of 4th hour Monday. If we do not get enough people to sign up, we will need to cancel the bus.

Due to the rescheduled game, the Sr High Band and Choir Concert has been moved to Tuesday night, March 12 starting at 7:30p.m. in the High School Auditorium."

Section 7AAAA

Cambridge-Isanti is the #3 seed and they defeated Andover 88-66 in the first round. They will now take on Duluth East on Saturday at 2:00 at Forest Lake high school. This game date and location was changed due to weather.
