Republican Nathan Nelson has been sworn into the Minnesota House District 11b seat.
Nelson beat DFL challenger Tim Burkhardt in a special election earlier this month to fill the seat vacated by State Senator Jason Rarick.
Senator Rarick was elected to fill Toney Lourey's seat in the State Senate after Gov. Walz appointed Lourey as the Commissioner for Human Services in Minnesota.
The swearing-in ceremony was done during a Minnesota House floor session by Speaker of the House Melissa Hortman.
