Big Lake man dies in two-vehicle Mille Lacs County crash

A 69-year-old Big Lake man died in a fatal two-vehicle crash on Highway 169 in Mille Lacs County late Sunday morning.

According to the state patrol incident report, a Chevy Trailblazer heading southbound near Tamarac Road just before noon crossed the center line and struck a northbound Honda Ridgeline pickup.

The driver of the Trailblazer, who was not wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene. His identity has not been shared to the public.

The Honda's driver and passenger, both from Excelsior, were airlifted for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The Mille Lacs County Sheriff's Office and Onamia emergency personnel also responded to the scene.
