Braham City Council approves purchase agreement for ECE to buy industrial park lots

The Braham City Council approved a purchase agreement for East Central Energy to buy four lots in the city’s industrial park during a special city council meeting on Tuesday.

ECE will use the lots to grow its broadband business. A 25,000 square-foot building is planned for the site.

According to vice president Ty Houglum, the facility will create around 30 jobs related to the fiber service. Houglum said those new jobs will pay wages competitive to metro areas.

Construction manager Troy Haug from Mark Haug Construction said he’s currently finishing project documentation and hopes to have plans submitted by next week.

Braham will receive $75,000 in revenue from selling the lots.

ECE received $15 million in broadband grants last year, and phase 1 of construction is slated to begin in May.
