Braham to Hold on Annexations

The Braham City Council held a special meeting in regards to annexation of neighboring properties earlier this week.

The city has been discussing annexing around five properties along county 107, the goal being to bring in fringe properties that benefit from city services such as bug spraying and police responses in return for tax revenue and residents have a voice in city affairs.

While council was in a time crunch for annexation of one property in particular, city staff suggested taking a step back to allow for more strategic city planning when it came to the properties in question.

The council decided to hold off on any annexation processes for the near future and will continue to work with Stanchfield township to develop a orderly annexation schedule for the future.
