Brook Park man dies after single-vehicle Kanabec County crash

A 70-year-old Brook Park man died as a result of a single-vehicle Kanabec County crash on Sunday afternoon.

According to the state patrol crash report, a Chevy Malibu was traveling northbound on Mahogany Street in Knife Lake Township around 3 p.m. when it went through the intersection at 220th Avenue and lost control.

The vehicle then went into the left ditch, where it rolled over and struck a tree.

The driver was identified as Brook Park resident William Bonney. He was treated at Welia Health Mora, and died as a result of his injuries.

The report states that Bonney was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The Kanabec County Sheriff's Office, Mora Fire Department, and Welia Health Ambulance also assisted at the scene.
