Chisago Lakes Earns First Victory of the Season

Friday night was an unstable evening all over Minnesota. In Chisago Lakes and St. Anthony Village’s case, it was lucky that they scheduled the game a 6:00 beforehand, as that allowed for them to play and finish their battle.

Chisago Lakes was looking for their first win of the season. Losing their first three games to three good teams. Homecoming was their ticket to the win. The Wildcats defeated St. Anthony Village 28-14. Player of the game, Kellen Meissner was responsible for two touchdowns on the night and tortured the Huskies defense both on the ground and in the air.

St. Anthony Village showed some determination as well. Scoring twice in the second half. The versatility of the Huskies offense was on full display. Quarterback Nathan Bentz led multiple long drives throughout the night. But an opportunistic Chisago Lakes defense spoiled most of those drives.

St. Anthony Village will host St. Croix Lutheran this week.

Chisago Lakes will travel to play the Polars of North St. Paul.
