District court judges appointed to seats in Kanabec, Isanti County

Governor Tim Walz announced the appointment of two district court judges in Kanabec and Isanti County on Wednesday.
Longtime Pine County district court judge Krista Martin will retire from her position effective Oct. 6.
During an update to the Pine County Board on Aug. 5, Martin explained that current Kanabec County district court judge Stoney Hiljus will take over the Pine County chambers.
According to a news release from the governor's office, Jacob Fischmann, who is currently a senior assistant attorney in the Hennepin County Attorney's Office, has been appointed to the seat chambered in Kanabec County.
Carrie Doom will replace retiring judge Amy Brosnahan for the seat chambered in Isanti County.
The release states that Doom works at Sapientia Law Group, where she primarily practices family law. She also represents parents in child protection cases in Isanti, Pine, and Kanabec counties, as well as in Mille Lacs Band Tribal Court.
