Early voting began on Friday, Sept. 19, for three school district special elections in east-central Minnesota. Here's what to know about when and where to vote.
Ogilvie School Board
Three Ogilvie residents are vying for a school board vacancy after the resignation of Jim Hanna earlier this year.
Susan Brown, Amanda Stevenson, and Michael Crnobrna are on the ballot as candidates for the position.
Absentee ballots can be completed in person at the Ogilvie school business office on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Hanna, who served on the board for 14 months, vacated his seat due to moving out of the school district. The seat's term expires on Jan. 1, 2029.
Cambridge-Isanti referendum
Cambridge-Isanti school district voters will weigh in on two ballot questions regarding a $124 million referendum.
According to the district, voting will be available from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Cambridge-Isanti High School and the district office until Nov. 3.
The high school will be open to voters until 8 p.m. on Thursdays.
The first question seeks $87.1 million to invest across all school sites, including expanding capacity at the elementary buildings, updating secure entrances and accessibility, addressing aging infrastructure and deferred maintenance, and improving athletic and activity facilities.
The second question is contingent on Question 1 passing, and proposes an additional $36 million investment to build a new indoor fieldhouse at Cambridge-Isanti High School.
Princeton referendum
Princeton Public Schools is seeking just over $49 million for infrastructure updates, renovating outdated classrooms, and replacing career and technical education spaces.
The referendum also includes a capital projects levy to raise $750,000 a year for ten years to provide funding for school district technology.
In-person early voting will be available at the District Center, located at 706 1st St. in Princeton, on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
According to a news release, the school district and a community task force have worked on the referendum proposal for nearly two years.
