Fatal Benton County crash results in two deaths

A Benton County crash between a UTV and pickup truck resulted in two deaths on Saturday.

According to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, a crash was reported just before 2:30 p.m. in the 9600 block of Ronneby Road Northeast in Maywood Township.

First responders found a Chevy Silverado in the ditch, adjacent to a UTV engulfed in flames.

Witnesses had pulled two women from the UTV wreckage. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the UTV was identified by the Midwest Medical Examiner's Office as 44-year-old Princeton resident Jamie Jendro.

The passenger was 34-year-old Lindsay Karsky, of Oak Park.

The driver of the pickup truck was identified as a 57-year-old Foley man, who withstood minor injuries in the crash and attempting to aid the victims.

Investigators believe the UTV was traveling southbound down the middle of the roadway at highway speeds at the time of the crash, with the impact occurring near the center line.
