Firefighters battled a wildfire that grew to about 225 acres in Mille Lacs County on Tuesday.
According to the Minnesota Incident Command System, emergency personnel responded to a grass fire ten miles north of Milaca at about 5 p.m.
At the time, the blaze east of Highway 169 was estimated at 100 acres.
The Milaca Fire Department, Minnesota DNR, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and state fire marshal’s office responded to the wildfire.
Multiple aircraft also assisted at the scene.
In an update Wednesday morning, the MNICS reported that crews were able to surround and control the active fire on Tuesday night.
