From the Front Porch: Ogilvie Superintendent Kevin Ricke

  • 4-day week renewal application was approved for the next six years

  • Alternative Delivery of Specialized Instructional Services (ADSIS) was approved for the next two years.

  • A mobile food pantry will be in the Ogilvie Schools parking lot on June 24

  • Summer meals are available for kids 18 and under. Anyone interested can sign up on the school’s website.

  • A Red Cross blood drive will occur on June 26 from 11-5

  • The Ogilvie Athletic Hall of Fame banquet will be on June 27 starting with a social hour at 5:00

  • There will be a special election to fill a school board seat this fall. Filing starts on July 29.

  • Spring sports had quite a bit of success this year. A 10 win season for softball, the baseball team was Great River Conference champions, Talon Baker and Ava Halvorson both notched new school records, and the trap and skeet teams were in the top 6.3% at the state tournament in Alexandria.

  • Free sports physicals are available through Welia Health. The dates are July 29 in Pine City and July 31 in Mora. Appointments fill up fast.
