From the Front Porch: Ogilvie Superintendent Kevin Ricke

• Funds are available for the Pathway II Learning Scholarship Fund and Volunteer Prekindergarten.

• 4-H and FFA will be participating at the Kanabec County Fair next week.

• The mobile food pantry  will be in the Ogilvie School parking lot on the 4th Tuesday each month.

• Summer meals are available to all kids 18 and under at no cost. Weekly pick-up is from 1-6 each Wednesday afternoon. To sign up, go to the Ogilvie School website.

• A special school board election will be held November 4th. An affidavit of candidacy needs to be turned in by August 4th.

• Next school board meeting is July 28th.

• The district is looking for a full-time guidance conselor, ADSIS math teacher, special education teacher, and a school health office professional, assistant football coach, theater musical director, and junior high softball coach.

• Two opportunities for free sports physicals are available through Welia Health. The first is from 3-6 in Pine City. To register for that, call 320-629-7505. The second is in Mora from 3-6. To register for that, call 320-679-1313.

• “Meet the Coaches” meeting is on August 5th from 6:30-8:00
