A police pursuit that began in Isanti County reached over 100 miles per hour and ended with an arrest in Kanabec County on Friday.
According to the Isanti County Sheriff’s Office, deputies watching a property occupied by a man with felony warrants observed a vehicle abruptly leaving at about 3 a.m.
A deputy attempted to pursue the vehicle traveling north on Highway 47, and confirmed a rate of speed above 100 miles per hour.
The suspect’s vehicle fled from the police pursuit into Kanabec County, where law enforcement deployed spike strips.
The driver fled on foot, and was located hiding in a tree by a Kanabec K9 unit.
He was taken into custody and charged with fleeing a police officer, careless driving, speeding, and driving after revocation.
